Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Heat heavy cream until just beginning to simmer. Do not boil.
  • Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate and let sit for 1 minute.
  • Stir gently until smooth, then add butter and vanilla until glossy.
  • Use warm as a sauce or chill 30–60 minutes for a thicker dessert.
