Ingredients

  • 16 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 14 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 0.75 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Brown Italian sausage in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks.
  • Add onion and cook until soft, then stir in garlic until fragrant.
  • Add diced tomatoes if using, then stir in cream and Italian seasoning.
  • Add pasta and Parmesan, toss until coated, and season to taste.

Notes

Adjust spice level by choosing mild or spicy sausage.
