Ingredients

  • 4 slices sturdy bread
  • 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter or mayonnaise

Instructions

  • Grate the cheese and slice the tomato. Pat tomato slices dry.
  • Layer cheese, tomato, Worcestershire sauce, and more cheese between bread slices.
  • Spread butter or mayonnaise on the outside of the bread.
  • Grill sandwiches in a skillet over medium heat until golden and melted.
  • Rest briefly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Pat tomatoes dry to prevent sogginess. Use medium heat for even browning.
