“You can drop me from the tallest building and I’ll be fine-but if you drop me in water, I die. What am I?”
At first glance, this riddle seems straightforward. Most people immediately begin thinking about physical objects. Perhaps it’s something incredibly durable. Maybe it’s a special material that can survive tremendous impact without breaking.
However, the correct answer is far less obvious:
Fire.
