The day before my master’s thesis defense should have been one of the happiest days of my life.
Instead, it became the day everything fell apart.
Or so I thought.
For seven years, I had worked toward my graduate degree in molecular biology. Every late-night study session, every failed experiment, and every revision had led to this moment. My thesis represented years of research and thousands of hours of effort.
The defense was scheduled for the next morning.
All I had left to do was review my presentation one final time.
Then I came home.
