

This Turtle Caramel Cake is everything you love in a decadent dessert: fudgy chocolate cake, luscious caramel, crunchy pecans, and melty chocolate chips all layered into one ridiculously delicious treat. It’s sweet, sticky, and perfect for holidays, birthdays, or whenever you need a wow-worthy dessert!
🛒 Ingredients:
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 bag (11 oz) caramels, unwrapped
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
👩🍳 Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13” baking dish.
- Prepare the chocolate cake batter according to package instructions. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt caramels with butter and evaporated milk over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and pour the warm caramel mixture evenly over the baked layer.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans on top of the caramel.
- Gently spoon the remaining cake batter over the toppings, spreading evenly.
- Return to oven and bake for 20–25 more minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Let cool before slicing – the caramel layer needs time to set!
