Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 6 hamburger buns (toasted)
- 6 slices provolone cheese
Instructions:
- Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess grease.
- Add veggies: Stir in onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Make it saucy: Add Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Pour in beef broth. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened.
- Assemble sandwiches: Spoon the beef mixture onto toasted buns.
- Add cheese: Top each with a slice of provolone. Cover with a lid or place under the broiler for a minute until cheese is melty.
- Serve hot & enjoy!
🍽️ Serving Suggestions:
- Pair with fries, onion rings, or a crisp side salad.
- Add sautéed mushrooms or hot peppers for extra flavor.
💡 Tips:
- Use hoagie rolls instead of buns for a more authentic Philly vibe.
