
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 8 oz egg noodles, cooked & drained
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Cook the beef: In a large skillet, brown ground beef with onion, bell pepper, and garlic until meat is no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
- Add tomatoes & sauce: Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Prepare creamy mix: In a separate bowl, combine sour cream and cottage cheese.
- Layer the casserole: In a greased 9Γ13-inch baking dish, layer half the noodles, half the creamy mixture, half the meat sauce, and a sprinkle of cheese. Repeat layers.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 25 minutes. Remove foil, add remaining cheese on top, and bake another 10β15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Let cool for a few minutes before scooping into bowls.
